Communicate from HTTPModule to php application
Hello,
is there any possibilty to send information from an HTTPModule to a PHP application hosted in II7?
without using a file as intermediate.
I managed to add or edit values to the HttpRequest.ServerVariables collection in the HTTPModule I've created (e.g. OnBeginRequest)
but this is not seen from PHP ($_SERVER, $_REQUEST).
Thank you in advance,
asasamihai

Hi,
I am new to this company and I was given my first task to resolve this issue. I am not pretty sure about the PHP installation on this server. I would be greatful if any one can guide me on the below queries.
1. How do we check whether PHP installation is correct or not?
2. When I try to browse the problematic web site, I get the below error in Event Viewer

Problem with Method PUT ($_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']) mistake
I was tested on my localhost (OS: Windows Home Premium, IIS 7.5 + FastCGI + PHP 5.4.13 + ownCloud 4.5.11)

/oc/remote.php/webdav/clientsync/%e0%b9%80%e0%b8%97%e0%b8%aa.docx
On server side, file name has changed to /oc/remote.php/webdav/clientsync/???.doc. It read variable byvar_dump($_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']).

IIS + PHP -> SQL at Hyper-V

PHP Configuration Issue
This is a followon from the following thread: http://forums.iis.net/t/1198958.aspx/1?Troubleshooting+500+Error
It is a file upload script and the URL is valid on the server. I've been trying for weeks to resolve this issue and nobody seems to be able to help me locate the problem.
A more detailed description of the problem:
Uploading files larger than 10MB nearly always fail but occasionally they get through. I believe the php.ini file to be setup correctly with the following settings:
file_uploads On max_execution_time 1000 max_file_uploads 20 max_input_time 800 memory_limit 128M post_max_size 70M upload_max_filesize 50M upload_tmp_dir C:\Temp\
C:\Temp\ is writable.
I have tried various scripts and all have the same outcome so I don't believe it to be a coding error. I see the file upload to C:\Temp and when it fails the file remains so it's almost like it just doesn't want to move the file. As I say, occasionally the file gets through and files less than 10MB get through fine so it is unlikely to be a permission issue.
I also changed maxAllowedContentLength in IIS to 30000000 with no success.
I then created an uploader in ASP which worked fine so this indicates its definitely a PHP issue.
I am totally lost with this one and nobody seems to be able to help me get the issue resolved.
PHP Buffered Output not flushing to browser (IIS8)
Hello,
I am having some issues with flushing the buffered output to the browser and i thought i should ask here.
No matter what i tried, i cannot seem to make php output echos while it's running the script.
After many hours of research i gave up and thought i should ask for some help. The search feature on this web site doesn't work so please don't tell me to search the forums first, as i have tried :)
I am using IIS 8.
Ok, so i am running a large PHP script with Oracle (OCI8) integration and here is what it basically does:
foreach($items as $itemarray){ echo " <tr>\n"; $error = checkValuesAndDisplay($itemarray); if($error[0]){ $fail = true;} if($error[1]){ $options = true;} echo " </tr>\n"; }
Basically the function checkValuesAndDisplay checks some items to see if they are in the database and returns some errors depending on what it finds.
Now, the $itemarray has a lot of items in it, sometimes even thousands. Script execution sometimes can take upwards of 20 minutes.
The problem i'm having is that i cannot seem to get it to flush the output after each iteration.
I tried this here: http://forums.iis.net/t/1078563.aspx/1
I added responseBufferLimit="1024", i made sure output_buffering and implicit_flush is set to 0 in php.ini. (i also tried responseBufferLimit to 0)
Then i tried adding a flush() and usleep(50000) at the end of the function, no luck. I even added ob_flush() and that also didn't work. (I shouldn't have to add ob_flush as output_buffering is 0 in php.ini).
At first i thought this is due to me using chrome, but i tried on IE9 and IE10 and same thing there...
Does anyone have any ideas as to what else i could try?
Thanks in advance!
Has anyone managed to get php_printer.dll on Windows 2012 / IIS8?
Hello everyone,
I think i've spent more time on this problem than any other i've had and I'm getting no where.
Has anyone managed to get php_printer.dll working on Windows 2012?
I have managed to print plenty but as soon as i enable Windows Authentication it breaks.
It has got to be a security permissions issue somehow linked to impersonation??
I've tried everything I can think of but to no avail.
How does everyone else handle there printing reports with PHP?

Wordpress on IIS - Cache problem
Hello,
I have a wordpress site on my server and I have an issue with the cache. When I make new posts, I see them, however some other changes like editing a template or editing some widgets I don't see them.
It's a windows server 2008 R2 with IIS 7.5 and FastCGI PHP 5.3.10. I installed the extension php_wincache and the wordpress through the microsoft web installer. I installed a plugin called W3 Total Cache to wordpress and I tried to cache and then flush cache, in case this could really empty the cache but nothing again. How can I really empty the cache on a website? The only solution I found, is to delete the Temp ASP.NET files!
Thank you

PHP link functions problem
Hi guys
I am trying the get the WordPress site running on IIS 7.5. For some reason, the code:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="<?=get_stylesheet_directory_uri();?>/assets/prettyPhoto/css/prettyPhoto.css"
or
<img src="<?=get_field('site_logo', 'options'); ?>" alt="<?php bloginfo('name'); ?>" />
does not work. The browser shows, for example:
http://<site name>/%3C?=get_field(%27site_logo%27,%20%27options%27);%20?%3E - 404 not found. Looks like the PHP handler does not process the inline functions in PHP.
The functions, where PHP is specified, are working '<?php function1() ?>'
What could be the reason of that?
P.S. I am not PHP developer - we are just got the request from client to host their site.
Thanks for your help.
Installed PHP 5.4.14 module... cannot find it.
I have used the web platform installer (version 4.6) and successfully installed (according to it) "PHP 5.4.14 for IIS Express". Yet when I open IIS and click on any of my sites the PHP module doesn't show up in the "Features view" as you can see below.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
UPDATE:
Turns out I hadn't installed the PHP manager extension, which is what I saw looking for. Thanks anyway.

I share app pools with about 20 sites in each. The app pools effected seem to be random and fail in groups when this error occurs.

IIS 6 with Plesk Panel; geting error 193 when trying to go to view my php info file ina browser. We have an existing php 5.2.6 installation on server and did not want to touch it so we didn't break other web sites. We need php 5.5 for one domain. So created new folder and uploaded php5 files and folders to it. Did manual install of fastcgi files. Am changing the settings for the one domain in IIS.
Was getting an error 5; removed the domain via plesk panel; then added it back in via Plesk panel. Web log for domain just shows 500 error as follows. I've tried Process Monitor but can't see error related to this domain or to the process. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Wincache
In a 2009 article on iis.net, "Use the Windows Cache Extension for PHP" discussed only three types of WinCache caches for this IIS extension. The WinCache user cache functionality was not addressed. It is my understanding that user cache ttl is independent of the ttl setting for WinCache in php.ini, and that somehow fastcgi is terminating idle threads, thus prematurely wiping out user cache regardless of the ttl set for user cache in PHP. Is there a workaround for this? I tried extending the IdleTimeout setting in fastcgi in the iis console, but this does not seem to have been successful. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rapid Fail - No Errors Logged
I'm running PHP via fastcgi and getting a 500 error saying "fastcgi process has failed frequently recently". However, no errors are occuring in PHP. The error only occurs when traffic gets higher than usual. Is it possible for something other than PHP to cause this error?
FGCI issue under IIS
Hi,
We have an issue when using IIS with FastCGI under load of post requests within our application.
After troubleshooting the issue, we have narrowed down the cause and have determined that under the specific conditions of large number of concurrent requests with large post data, IIS is failing to comply the with FCGI protocol as defined athttp://www.fastcgi.com/drupal/node/6?q=node/22
To reproduce the issue in IIS:
- Download the fastcgi developer kit at http://www.fastcgi.com/dist/fcgi.tar.gz.
- Compile the fastcgi library and the echo example, which is part of the fastcgi developer kit.
- Setup a site within IIS and configure this site to use the echo fastcgi app you compiled in the step above.
- Configure the fastcgi app to have 'Instance MaxRequests' of a very large number, say 10 million, and the 'Max Instances' to have a value of 2.
- Test your fastcgi IIS handler by loading the page in your browser. It should return an html page which says:
FastCGI echo
Request number 1, Process ID: nnnn
etc.
- Use any web server load testing which is capable of sending post requests, and ensure your post data is greater than the standard fastcgi packet size, we used approximately 2600 bytes of post data, and apache bench under linux with the following command:
ab -n 100000 -c 20 -k -p postdata.txt http://yourserver/yoursite
where the file postdata.txt had 2600 bytes of text data in it.
The above load test will do a total of 100000 requests, with a concurrency of 20 requests outstanding at any point. Since IIS is configured for a maximum of 2 process instances, this means that requests will queue within IIS, which exposes the issue. If the concurrency is less that the 'Max Instances' setting, the issue does not surface readily.
The ab tool reports a large percentage of failed requests when performing this test. Using wireshark to analyse the network packets (with TCP/IP protocol setup under the IIS fastcgi 'Advanced Settings'), we were able to track the cause of these failed requests to IIS not sending the terminating FCGI_STDIN packet of zero length. IIS sends the nextrequestId, and the fastcgi console process ignores all later requestId's, waiting for the terminatingFCGI_STDIN packet. Eventually, the fcgi consol process times out due to no respose, and the request fails.
In our testing, we found that faster computers, like an i7, did not readily reproduce the error, where as lower end computers show the error very rapidly under load.
We also found that by putting a busy waiting loop which took at least 300 milliseconds in the echo.c fastcgi loop, that even fast computers failed readily.
Hopefully this is sufficient detail to allow someone at IIS to reproduce the issue, and release a fix.
Yours Sincerely,
Stuart Smith

C:\PHP\php-cgi.exe - The FastCGI process exited unexpectedly
Hi,
I am trying to run PHP via FastCGI on a Windows 2008 server. I followed this installation doc http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/246/using-fastcgi-to-host-php-applications-on-iis7/ and have checked I completed the steps correclty numerous times. However when I try to execute a php page i am presented with the following error:
HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error
C:\PHP\php-cgi.exe - The FastCGI process exited unexpectedly
Detailed Error Information
Module: FastCgiModule
Notification: ExecuteRequestHandler
Handler: PHP via FastCGI
Error Code: 0x000000ff
Requested URL: localhost/test.php
Physical Path: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\test.php
Logon Method: Negotiate
Logon User: Domain\user
I had PHP working correctly without using FastCGI so im fairly sure its not the PHP installation. The only help i have found on this error is here http://blogs.iis.net/rickjames/archive/2007/10/16/fastcgi-debugging-quot-the-fastcgi-process-exited-unexpectedly-quot.aspx and as I am a novice at debugging something like this im not finding it much help.
I have changed the applictaionhost.config file locking down most sections as this server wiil be used for hosting, but i have doubled checked that the sites attempting to run php have access to all the modules and handlers they require i.e. the FastCGI handler shown above in the detailed error information.
Any ideas on why this error may be happening, or any simple tips for debugging it?
I am thinking a fresh install may be my only way of fixing this?
*****Update*****
After reading other posts I followed these steps mentioned by ruslany
<div class=ForumPostContentText>"A possible way to isolate the problem is by running your script from the command line:
C:\php\php-cgi.exe C:\inetpub\wwwroot\phpinfo.php
If you get the same error then you will know that the error has nothing to do with web server or FastCGI module.
Another thing to try is to switch php handler mapping from FastCGI to CGI and see if the error goes away. This way you will know that the error is caused by FastCGI."
So I ran the script from the command line and it returned:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'C:\Program Files (x86)\PHP\ext\php_gd.dll' - The specified module could not be found. in Unknown on line 0
Hello World!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I then switched the php handler from FastCGI to CGI and tried my php page using IE which returned the "Hello World" text followed by the php warning above
So, bar the warning it appears to be working correctly. I dont think this warning is crashing FastCGI, however ill work on fixing it just to make sure.
